You can write articles that talk about your website in general. It should have at least 400 words and must contain essential keywords. You can submit these articles to free content submission sites. You will need to provide a back link of your website and feed it to the resource box, which is located at the bottom part of your article.

These articles have keywords on them and thus when an online user types that certain keyword on the search box. This will make your article visible to the searcher. Other site may even be interested in posting your article and this will consequently bring more links to your site.

Lastly, there are companies that can do all the dirty work for you. Although this means cost, you will be assured of getting good results because an expert manages your campaign.
